Kollengienkirche (Collegiate Church)

Noteworthy Baroque-style church was designed by influential architect Fischer von Erlach, and completed in 1797 as part of the local university. The school closed in 1810, and later re-emerged as the University of Salzburg in 1962.
Dom Cathedral

This cathedral was completed in 1655 and is a striking example of Baroque and late Italian Renaissance architecture. Situated throughout are awe-inspiring statues of biblical figures such as Jesus, Moses, Elijah, Peter and Paul, as well as the authors of the four Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Mozart was baptized here in 1756.
Franziskanerkirche (Franciscan Church)

This eighth century church underwent extensive renovation in the 12th and 15th centuries, combining Romanesque and late Gothic architecture with a Renaissance-style interior. The belfry contains a bell made in 1468, while the chapel features a beautiful depiction of the Birth of Christ. |
