CANstruction is an annual competition to build structures using food cans to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. This year's theme was "Monumental". RTKL Associates chose to build a monumentally sized LED light bulb to symbolize "Nourishment of Bright Ideas". The structure was assembled by the RTKL team on Saturday, September 1 beginning at 10 am and finishing around 2 pm. The gala awards ceremony is on September 8, 2012. Votes for the structures are cast by visitor's to the museum placing food cans into boxes adjacent to each installation. All cans from the votes and structures are donated at the end of the event. You can also vote by donating at the Capital Area Food Bank link below. $1 = 1 vote ($10 minimum).
